The last Friday in August each year marks Daffodil Day, the Cancer Society’s annual flagship event and one of the most important fundraising and awareness campaigns in New Zealand. It raises much needed funds towards vital scientific research into the causes and treatment of all types of cancer, as well as providing a wide range of support services, education and awareness campaigns/programmes for people affected by cancer.

On this day, volunteers go out to various locations and collect donations for the Cancer Society. This year from the Auckland Office Ellen, Monica and Karen volunteered and went to different collection sites in the CBD.

The people of Auckland were very generous donating for a Daffodil or purchasing Teddy Bear’s (called George or Charlotte) and pens.

The Auckland office also ordered bags of teddy bears and pens, which were purchased by our staff raising a further $180.

The office really enjoyed the time volunteering and helping to support a worthy cause, they will definitely be involved again next year!
