For over 20 years, Sydney’s most influential industry leaders, Children’s Cancer Institute’s corporate partners and their most loyal supporters have come together at their signature ball to celebrate the Institute and raise funds to put an end to childhood cancer.
After volunteering last year, two of Scottish Pacific’s employees, Coral and Joanne, had the opportunity to volunteer again at this year’s event which was held at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney.
The goal this year was to reach $700,000.00. With 70 volunteers and 550 guests (a sell-out) and $240,000.00 in the bank at the beginning of the evening this was going to a busy night.
Coral and Joanne were paired off to form a dynamic duo to sell raffle tickets and champagne bottles. The latter half of the evening they were table hosts and were lucky enough to meet Dan Murphy, who happened to be sitting at one of their tables.
There was lots of laughs and also a few tears for the stories that were told. They met some amazing and very generous people and by the end of the evening everyone felt grateful to be part of an event that would help change a sick child’s life for the better.
