On Thursday 30 April, the Debtor and Invoice Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (DIFA) held it’s inaugural Red Tie Charity Dinner at the Westin Hotel in Sydney. The aim of the evening was to gather DIFA Members, Affiliates and Partners for a networking event in support of variety, the children’s charity.
Variety is a national not-for-profit organisation committed to empowering Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs, to live, laugh & learn.
There were over 270 attendees and the Scottish Pacific Group were proud to host a number of tables. The evening was hosted by Karen Ledbury, a local Channel 7 personality, and included a raffle and live auction. A number of prizes were generously donated by Scottish Pacific clients and offices, and included items such as holidays, video/computer games, and even a boardroom lunch with former Australian cricketer Mike Whitney.
Almost $40,000 was raised on the night for this extremely worthy cause through the auction, raffle and generous pledge donations.
Scottish Pacific employee, Lynda McMullen, was also recognised with a DIFA Outstanding Achievement Award, presented by DIFA Chairman and Scottish Pacific CEO Peter Langham.
The evening culminated with a live band and plenty of dancing and networking into the night.
